Pleasant Mountain - Ledges TrailGoing up!
Then you get to the ledges:
Blueberries to come:
Looking to the southwest:
It was the longest day of the year, but because of the cloud bank over Mount Washington, the light was pretty dim by the time we got back to the cars. New GrowthIn spring, the deciduous trees grow new leaves. Not to be left out the coniferous trees have new growth too.
Here are some other spring sights now:
Spring walks and drives
The first image of Frenchman's Hole, near Sunday River, was taken with the same Kodachrome II simulation and the second was a RAW processed image in Lightroom 6 to Velvia film simulation.
This Kodachrome II simulation has been interesting to experiment with; if you have a Fuji camera you may wish to check the link for the directions. SpringSpring is here, gradually, and the black flies are out in clouds.
Beautiful painted trillium growing up from the brush left from logging operations.
New life springing up from last year's oak leaves.
The next few are from earlier in the spring.
Screw Auger Falls in Grafton Notch State Park.
A Balm of Gilead tree in Gilead, Maine. (black and white)
The Saco River with the Conway Intervales: the Moats on the left, White Horse Ledge in the middle, and Mount Washington under the clouds. Since Adin asked, lately I have been carrying a Fuji X-E3 as my lightweight carry camera. These photos were all taken with that camera. The images were run through Lightroom 6 and I used the "Velvia" film simulation for most and "Acros" for the black and white. Lake Living Magazine Spring 2019The spring issue of Lake Living Magazine should be on the stands about now. My contributions to this issue are photographs of a local potter's work. Amongst his projects are cooking vessels and these are the subjects of my photos. Some pieces are meant for stovetop and others for in the oven. Rusty Wiltjer crafts these pieces from his studio in Waterford, Maine. We tried different setups of this for the cover:
With the lemons?
Or without? Do you see that watermelon radish? It was from Patch Farm and we sampled it afterwards. Brenna Mae of Patch Farm was on the cover of Lake Living for the summer 2018 issue. The tea pot (kettle?) was steaming away.
And we sampled the bread Rusty had made and had tea.
This two-piece vessel would be used to cook a whole chicken in the oven. Unfortunately we did not have a chicken so we were not able to sample that. So check out the new issue of Lake Living Magazine in print or online. |
