John Virgil Dedrick (1873-1960), my great-grandfather, was a photographer starting in Oklahoma, moving to Weimar, Texas in 1910, and later on to Washington State. Since there is continued interest in his photography I have set aside a section in my website for him.

In Oklahoma, he had a studio in Taloga, Dewey County. His photographs of scenes and people of the area are included in the county historical society's three-volume history. Besides photographing in Dewey County, he also made photographs at the Miller Brothers 101 Ranch in Ponca City, Oklahoma. From Texas and Washington he traveled making more photographs. He is known by collectors for his  photographic postcards and some of his images are in the Library of Congress digital archives.
