Remember the postings from last year on my trip to Montana? Well I mentioned making a post about Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Instead of a post, I made a regular page about my visit here.

January thaw

For about three days we have had our January thaw, breaking that cold spell.

It was accompanied by a lot of rain. So, the brooks and rivers are no longer frozen over.

And not so much snow left on Baldface. Plenty of ice though as the temperatures dropped again when the sky started to clear.

The last three photos were taken with the Panasonic DMC-ZS100, which I am still trying to get used to since my second Fuji XF-1 died. Any suggestions?

Portland winter afternoons

These are views from Portland's Munjoy Hill on two separate afternoons: the day before winter started and the first day of winter. (Actually the first three are from the bottom of Munjoy Hill near the narrow gauge railway.)
