Late winterIt was cold again last week.
We know it cannot last. Since the sun is higher in the sky, the days quickly warm.

Align the real peaks with the metal reproductions on the Admiral Peary monument. Kearsarge is the tall peak in the middle. Just to the right is snow-covered Mount Washington. This is taken from Jockey Cap in Fryeburg, of course.
This photo was printed in the Bridgton News. Winter in New YorkIt was a beautiful clear, warm day to drive through parts of New York State last Saturday. The Hudson River was clogged with ice at the Newburgh Bridge. And the Taconic Parkway again proved to be a great road for driving. There was evidence of where the snowblowers had to cut their way through the deep snow. At James Baird State Park, people were snowshoeing.
The cross-country ski tracks are mine. Photos taken with the Fuji XF1. From the high point along the Taconic the view was toward the snow-covered hills and mountains to the west. Are those the Catskills?
And a red barn just off the north end of the parkway contrasted brilliantly with the blue sky and glaring snow.
All in all, a great day for a drive. Winter in New JerseyHere is the old mill in Clinton, New Jersey again, but this time with snow.
