Pleasant Mtn. from the West

This is the next in my series on the trails up Pleasant Mountain. Only one more trail to go.

This time we actually took the trail all the way to the summit. Including time for photos, it took about 1:15. It was a very nice evening for a hike: comfortable temperatures, dry, no biting insects (yet).

The second and last bridge. The trail follows along streams as it climbs.

One of the bigger patches of remaining snow.

This is pretty much the only view from the trail.

The summit approach.

The abandoned firetower on the summit.

Views to the west with Mount Washington.

Our last hike up Southwest Ridge trail took us to the top of the hill just to the right of those towers.

Old granite foundation stones for the hotel which used to be on the summit of Pleasant Mountain.

We made it back down in time for sunset.

The old farmhouse at the end of the trail.

And one of the outbuildings across the road.

Next we plan on climbing Ledges Trail. The black flies should be out by then.

All photos taken with the Fuji X-E1.
