The last weekend of summer

In New England, summer ends on Labor Day weekend. All those people from away return to whence they came, closing up their camps, putting away their boats. Schools start. And now, for those of us who live here, we get to the best time of the year.

Friday in Portland it was perfect: clear, breezy, and in the low 70's. Here are some views from Munjoy Hill, Portland's Eastern Promenade.

And back inland, a boathouse on Kezar Lake was still occupied this weekend.
