The start of this blog showed photographs taken of a 1947 Delahaye to be used on a poster for an event. The event is Founder's Day at Paris Hill, Maine and happens this Saturday, July 19.

This is what the final poster turned out to be:

I took the photo on location at the old Hannibal Hamlin House on Paris Hill, currently the property of the owner of the car collection described in the photo. If you are able to go there, you will see what I mean.

Below I'll show you the process it took to develop the poster.

The first version for review by the event organizers and the collection owners was this.

Rather bare and not what I had originally envisioned (that would have taken lift to get the images). So I went back to Photoshop and developed the following poster.

The grille of the car from another photo was used in the background. At the same time I also developed the poster that actually went on to be used. They liked both options, but in the end, the one at the top received slight preference. After this was accepted, two other formats had to be designed. The larger poster, 11"x17", differs in proportion so the layout changes somewhat. And finally, two sides were designed for a postcard.

So, there you have it, the overview of the process to make the poster. Perhaps some of you will make it to see the car in person.
