Melting

There is still enough snow for cross-country skiing, but everything is melting fast.

Taken with a Moto G and lightened (perhaps too much) in LR.

The Nikon D600 has gone to Nikon under the Service Advisory, so it is back to the D7000 (in this case with the 18-200.)

Most of these photos were taken with a circular polarizer. Next are two examples showing the effect of the polarizer at different settings.

I originally stopped to photograph the curves of the water against the snow, but there was the bonus of a beaver in the water.

And then in the background, I could see a heron and ducks when I zoomed the lens.

Great blue heron on the left (this is a crop, so the detail is fuzzy).

And hooded mergansers on the right.
